Hi! I’m Laura Tzunun, the primary designer for Tzunun Homes! I love all things design, particularly anything that has to do with the home. Ever since a very young age, I gravitated towards interior design. It has brought a sense of peace and calm into my life. I struggle with anxiety and the pursuit of perfectionism. When I found design, I instantly felt calm when I was thinking of how to make my space reflect my personality and give me a place to escape from my hectic thoughts.

My Husband, Gerardo, is our master craftsman and designer. Since the age of eight, Gerardo began his path towards working with wood. He became interested in art at a very young age as well. Gerardo grew up in Guatemala in a rural village, his father was a carpenter. His dad taught him how to make furniture out of raw wood, by hand. Later he began to learn other trades in construction, discovering his natural talent to work with tools and materials to create something beautiful.

Together we own Tzunun homes and have been fixing up houses and making them into homes. Our philosophy is to restore homes to their former glory and giving people a comfortable, safe, beautiful, and affordable place to live. We do not take shortcuts or do quick, cheap fixes.

My goal with this website is to help others find ways to make their home a refuge. Your house should be a place where kids or pets can play. It is not the pristine white room that no one is allowed in. It’s where chefs create masterpieces, where artist paint vast landscapes (even if it gets on the wall or floor), and where kids can play hide-n-seek for hours to find their own Narnia. A house should be designed around your lifestyle to allow you to live in your home the way you want. I want to help you find your peace in your home by inspiring you to create your own perfect space!

Gerardo and I started flipping houses in 2014. Our business started to grow and expanded in 2017 when we began working fulltime flipping houses and started our business of Tzunun Homes.
